The Islamic Bank of Britain (IBB) is set for a major expansion in the UK partly because of significant demand from Non Muslims attracted to its ethical approaching to banking.
Unlike Western Banks IBB or for that matter any genuine form of Islamic banking does not derive its source of income from Porn, gambling, interest, alcohol etc that are forbidden in Islam and contrary to the Sharia. As a result 2012 is a year of proposed major expansion initially in the north and then throughout the rest of the UK for a bank that already has 50,000 customers.
LM wishes IBB well and believes with the current economic crisis partly a result of crass banking by the traditional capitalist banks what better time for Muslim and Non Muslim to switch accounts and establish a genuinely ethical approach to how we all do business.
I wish them well, but from my experience they are technically useless!

Similarly, I fear that the Arab spring was catalysed to show that "Islam is not the answer."
