Just to note it is not 'Halal' meaning allowed in the Islamic religion. People may try to convince themselves that it is allowed to suit their desires, but Islam by no means allows it. It is shameful to see such videos, and it certainly should not be distributed as people with weak faiths will fall into these so-called marriages.
LM is one-sided & criticises the Saudis BUT how about the Indonesians? Casting the females as soehow almost innocent victims as the title implies reflects on a naive & partisan bias.
Taking responsibility is an adult action, both adult sides are to blame. Yes of course there is an imbalance in power relations though, but that does not absolve the Indonesians.
Well actually the Indonesians are absolved and since when did two wrongs (assuming there is voluntary and not forced prostitution - educate yourself on how females fall prey to the predators who pimp them out and run the meat market - it is rarely by own free choice that they choose this path) make a right?
The Saudis and other rich Gulf states have a long standing tradition and documented history of abusing and raping the straff they employ - this means Pakistani, Indian, Sri Lankan, Philipino, Indonesian and other cheap labour usually maids. World wide human rights organizations have been documenting about the issue.
In Dubai - human trafficking is happening too. And what did the Sheikh (who is responsible for the current building of Dubai) say when faced with the question of possible human trafficking and prostition happening in certain clubs: Oh thats what the western/europeans demand.
So ethics, morals and responsibility goes straight out the window.
Money talks.
And don't be surprised to find the people like the Sheikh and his ilk, bending down right next to you in the Friday Prayers.
London Muslim with a left of center political agenda but dont let that put you off.
I write about issues the mainstream Murdoch agenda ignores and more than happy to also take on the tiny minority of vociferous fruitcakes in my own community.
In addition I'm a long suffering supporter of QPR. So, a Muslim with a sense of humour
