Eid On Sunday

Saudi have announced that Saturday will be the 30th day of Ramadan so Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday in the Kingdom and as a result Eid is on Sunday here in the UK.

Whisper it quietly but strangely with all Muslims celebrating Eid on Sunday we have Muslim Unity albeit for day. Lets Celebrate Eid inshallah on Sunday and the refreshing sense of Muslim unity although the cynic in me says the Unity sadly wont last.

Eid Mubarak

  1. Unity is based on principles NOT expediency & Nafs.

In the lifetime of the Prophet(S.A.W.) he gave consent to different Eid days based on the principle e.g. from towns a distance away.

Strange lack of logic from LM who claims to respect science!

    Saudi say, so UK do?:
How can the pre-calculated flawed science of the regime's "civil" calendar be used for over-ruling the Deen. (Even the makers of it state that it should not be used, & they are rightly protecting themselves from Allah's wrath.)
It is scientifically impossible for Ramadhan to have started when the usual suspects from Najd drag others into foolishness. The capacity of a half-blind person or habitual liar etc. has to be taken into consideration. At the very least respected independent photographic should be used by a group. Strange that no observatory to the West e.g. near Makkah saw anything!

Do the blind Saudi-regime followers also do Taraweeh at the same time?

Even some honourable senior Saudi ulama have gone on record, stating people in the West should not follow Saudis blindly but observe the moon in their moonsighting zones! This shows it is not a sectarian issue, but one of commonsense & following the Sunnah.

So the logic of Saudi say, UK Muslims do is flawed. So Eid not DEFINITELY on Sunday for all without local confirmation.

The Saudi regime does NOT check the moon at the beginning of every month.
They mucked it up & started a day early & so have got themselves into a mess by finishing 30 instead of the correct 29 days!

Saying that it looks like, barring cloudy skies in our regional moonsighting zone (as used by all generations past till the 1979 CE fitna split), we could have a united Eid based upon the Sunnah. Wait for around maghrib.

Islamic Unity is based on "Muslims" following the principles of the Sunnah. Differences are a mercy anyway, so no need to be upset - unity of principles not politics is better.

  2. It might last - as long as no one parks anyone in to the car park on the day @ the masjid, we should all make it home without fighting each other
